Noffle are 3D printed kayak paddle grips, designed to evoke a sense of "adventure" whilst improving grip and comfort. The goal was to translate this abstract feeling of adventure into a complete experience.

We wanted to replicate and resonate the sporty, playful and

adventurous appeal of the brand through the color palette and logo design. We went for a vibrant and exciting red and black and created a logo that complimented the sporty look of the brand.

I took great interest in learning more about how the material choices not only influenced our interactions with certain products but also evoked certain visceral emotions within us as we used them. It was also important to make design choices depending on the environment the grips were going to be used in, and the limiting factors that may come into play from the user's  perspective.

Extracting the right information and making sure the user testing and study probes are done in an ethical manner is an important skill to have as a designer. I learnt to involve the user in my design process from the start – where personas, empathy maps and stakeholder mapping form the basis of ideation.

I also learnt how to gather information from the user in a scientific way, both qualitatively and quantitatively, whilst respecting the privacy of the user and test subjects.
